Karen Yu Xinxuan (b. 1998, Singapore), pursued Diploma Fine Arts majoring in Oil Painting at LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore. She has exhibited at The LASALLE Show (2019), Brother Joseph McNally Gallery (2018), and LASALLE Open House (2016). Her personal projects include being proactive in the production of  ‘Welcome Home: Diaspora’ by artist Sarah Lin in participation in Rediscover: Telok Ayer project by LASALLE College of the Arts in collaboration with Urban Redevelopment Authority Singapore (2020), and has been commissioned for the sophomore album art of Singaporean band 'Subsonic Eye' titled Dive Into (2018).  

 

Yu’s art direction focuses on the notion of the human relationship with nature, she draws inspiration from a myriad of natural and mundane landscapes. Yu projects a different lens in hopes to confront our perceptions and the relationship we may hold with the mundaneness of nature, allowing space for contemplation, enveloped in ambience and aura. She invites the viewers to vision themselves within her works and create an individualistic and personalised ambience revolving around the plethora of hues and forms, to experience the sublime.
